Summer 2010

Dawson and I flew back to Idaho last week. It is crazy to think that the summer is winding down and there is only 2 weeks now of guests left to complete the 2010 season at the lodge! Time sure did fly by!
Here are a few pictures to capture this summer. There isn't a lot since my new camera quickly became the camera that we had to use for the lodge. (The dock boys only made it the fist 2 weeks with the lodge camera before it quit working, I think a drop on the dock was the real reason!)

(One of the guests fishing with Dawson)

Bill had rigged up a broken fishing pole with a lure (without the hooks) and a broken reel so that Dawson had his own fishing pole when they all went out fishing. Dawson would make anyone that would, cast the line out so that he could reel it back in.

Dawson ended up with a buzzed head this summer, not to my liking. I have never wanted Dawson to have a buzzed head but Bill was helping cut his hair and the blade came off and for some reason Bill struggles to realize this fact (he did this to himself last year!) and so Dawson's hair ended up a lot shorter then I wanted it!

We had a day that was rainy and rough, so a lot of the guests didn't go out fishing or at least came back early. This guest, Jack, decided that he was going to read to Dawson but when he asked Dawson for one of his books, Jack was given the tide table book. Jack was great and made up a story and "read" the book to Dawson. What a great guy Jack is!

Dawson and Rudy (Bill's lab) had a love/hate relationship all summer. Poor Rudy was the on the losing end of a lot of run overs and very rough "loves".

We had a family from Logan come up to the lodge and Dawson quickly became all the kids friends. Anyone that would play with him, got roped into playing with him! They were great and Dawson really enjoyed having some kids to play with.

The last couple of weeks, Dawson had decided that the mop buckets were his boats. Needless to say it was a challenge to get one away from him to be able to mop the dining hall daily and each night poor Cal (Pat's cousin that came up to help) would have to go searching for his bucket to mop the fish packing area. Dawson loved to play in his boats and would ask for his lunch each morning to take in his boat just like all the other fishermen. I am sure they are enjoying being able to easily find the mop buckets now that they are no longer Dawson's boats!

Dawson taking one of the "boat motors" in to be fixed.

I just realized that I didn't even bring home any of the fishing pictures, so you will have to wait until September for those! Over all it was a great summer that came and went very quickly! Now Dawson and I are back home waiting for Bill's return the middle of September and going to start getting ready for another little one to join our family in February!

Hey glad that you made it home safe...and congrats on the baby that is so exciting for you guys yea! Now that you are back give me a call and we will have to go and do something! Wish we could have made it up to see you when we were so close this summer. Dawson has grown up so much, and the buzz cut makes him look like such a big boy all grown up.
